The Vocational Rehabilitation program assists Texans with disabilities in overcoming vocational limitations and enables them to prepare for, find and keep jobs. The customer and counselor determine what kind of job the customer can achieve. Services may include medical, psychological and vocational evaluations, hearing aids, translation, medical treatment and/or therapy, assistive devices, rehabilitation, job placement, supported employment services and follow up after placement to ensure job success. To be eligible, an individual must: have a physical or mental disability that results in a substantial impediment to employment, be employed after receiving Vocational Rehabilitation services and require Vocational Rehabilitation services in order to achieve an employment outcome.
