Description POWS provides overnight emergency housing during freezing weather conditions to those who would otherwise be sleeping outside. POWS will open when outside temps are below 35° with 20% precipitation or 32°. The program runs from Nov.1 thru March 31 each year. Supper and breakfast are served. The doors open at 6:30PM, lights out at 10PM, guests must leave by 7AM. Transportation is provided from selected locations (currently Harrington Library, Parker Road Dart station, Downtown Plano Dart station) starting at 6PM. People may also drive to the POWS location.
